Look how adorable this is! It has almost a creamy finish (just a little bit of shimmer) and it's so beautiful and the color is so soft. It needs two coats, I'm wearing three in this picture.

Lumene Cinderella Story

Look at this beauty!




Lumene Cinderella Story.

I just found this lovely polish from my collection and I'm totally in love with it! I'm not sure if I even have worn it before, I've probably just tossed it with my other polishes after I've got it from work last autumn. Well, yesterday I decided to give it a try and now I'm totally hooked!

It covers well, it's easy to apply and it has adorable golden shimmer (which I couldn't capture perfectly in these pictures). Plus it's pink! It also stays well: I've worn this polish for two days before I took these pictures and in those two days I've been cleaning, scrubing and dealing with water a lot! And the polish still looks almost like I've just polished my nails! What else can you ask from a perfect nail polish!

Lumene Horizon

Another Lumene nail polish again. These were my favourite nail polishes before I was introduced to the world of OPI and China Glaze and before I knew that I can get a lot cheaper polishes from the Internet.




Lumene Horizon indoors and outdoors.

This is a cute, sheer light pink polish with a lilac flash. If you can imagine the inner surface of a shell in good lighting this looks excactly like that.



It's quite sheer so I used three coats and Poshe on top. And because it is a see-through polish it also looks great on top of another nail polish. I still haven't tried it on top of a black polish but I believe it would look really nice. I must try that combo sometime.

At the moment I'm really into these light polishes. I don't like them to be completely nude and see-through, as I want them to also cover with two or three layers.

Princess nails

Sorry guys I haven't wrote anything this weekend, I've been busy acting princess. No, just kidding, I just loved my french manicure so much that I just couldn't take it off (plus I had my birthday party).

I've fell in love with OPI's Pricesses rule, so here's a picture of it again:

I prefer my right hand (lower picture) because those flowers look way better when they are placed in the middle of the nails.

Again I used Lumene's Smiling Nights (two coats) at first and then Pricesses Rule, but this time I added a layer of Anytime's Sparkling Fizz on top of that. Then I added Poshe and after my nails had dried I made Konad decorations and added rhinestones on ring finger (in both hands).

And look how little there's polish left on Lumene's bottle! OK, that's still enough for at least three or four manicures but this gives me hope that one day I might be allowed to buy new polishes.

These extra sparkles from Sparkling Fizz make this lacquering even cuter. Shame, that they don't show clearly enough on my photo.

I think I've made clearly to you that I love all girly things so you probably know already that I'm really, really pleased with this lacquering.

Lumene Silver Moon + Color Club Sex Symbol

I love my french manicure so much that I just couldn't take it off yet. So I'm going to show you some older photos again.

Here's one of my favorite silvers, Lumene's Silvery Moon:

In this picture I'm wearing two coats but one would be enough because this polish covers really well. This is certainly my favourite silver without any glitters.

In this picture I'm wearing Lumene's Silver Moon but I've added one coat of Color Club's Sex Symbol on top of it. Sex Symbol covers quite well so it can also be used alone, you just need to use two to three coats of it.

Of course there are so many great silver polishes and here's only two of my many favorites.

Lumene Smiling Nights + OPI Princesses Rule!

Look at my sweet, cotton candy nails!

In this girly manicure I'm wearing two coats of Lumene's Smiling Nights (light, pale pink) and two coats of OPI's Princesses Rule!

And by the way, thanks to 8ty8beauty.com, I've always thought it's "Princess rule!". Take a look, in their lists it really says "Princess Rule!" in singular, not in plural form as it should be: http://www.8ty8beauty.com/nail_polishes/opi.htm. Has anyone else ever thought it's just "Princess rule!" ?

I have to admit that I just love Princesses Rule! on top of some other polish. Worn alone it's abit too see-through and lame, but on top of another polish it's really, really cute and sweet. And it has really nice, soft and gentle shimmer! I've tried this only once before and didn't really like it back then but that was only because I was trying to wear it alone that time. This time I just want to stare at my nails all the time and sigh (plus shout to my boyfriend with a singing tone "Look at me, look at me, I'm a princess!")

And why am I wearing Lumene again? Because this was the only bottle which had only half of the polish left...

Lumene Hold My Hand & NYX Girls CN231

Something old, something new and something blue...

As my Finnish readers might know, I've made a new year's promise to use at least 10 nail polishes away from my polish collection before I'm allowed to buy new ones. And of course I want to get rid of those ten polishes as quickly as I can. So instead of using just my newest polishes (like I've been doing lately), I'm going to use my old ones also and combine them with the new ones.

So here's today's lacquer:

At first I just put Lumene's Quick & Chic nail polish called Hold My Hand (23) because I noticed that there weren't that much polish left in it's container (is that a right word?). I used three coats and topped it with Poshe. This is a nice, soft white color, not too bright. But this one just seemed a bit boring to be worn just by itself...

Then I decided that this one needs a little glitter:

I added one coat of NYX Girls' CN231 which is a great blue/turquoise glittery polish. Quite cute! This look isn't so sophisticated or classy but it's funny enough to be kept for a day. And the best thing is that my Lumene's nail polish has now enough polish for just approximately two lacquerings! Win-win situation for me!

Lumene Aamuinen hetki + NYX Girls CN242

Uutta ja vanhaa yhdessä:

Lumene Quick & Chic 46 Aamuinen hetki (Morning Sun) ja päällä NYX Girls hilehippulakka CN242.

Tässä Aamuinen hetki vielä kuvattuna kauniina, aurinkoisena aamuisena hetkenä:

Aamuinen hetki on hieman läpikuultava lakka, joten laitoin sitä kolme kerrosta, mutta kaksikin olisi riittänyt. Kaunis, pehmeä persikkainen lakka, mutta ehkä kuitenkin hieman liian tylsä ja mitäänsanomaton makuuni. NYX:in hilehippulakka piristää lakkausta kyllä kivasti ja olen tuohon CN242 lakkaan erittäin tyytyväinen. Hileet levittyivät yllättävän tasaisesti ja kauniisti eivätkä ole liian suuria, vaikka ovatkin tavallisia pikkuhileitä isompia. Onneksi minulta löytyy myös muita värejä.

Jännä kyllä huomata, miten erilaiselta Aamuinen hetki näyttää keinovalossa, suorassa auringonpaisteessa ja ihan vaan päivänvalossa. Keinovaloissa tämä on mielestäni tylsimmillään. Voikin siis olla, että tulen käyttämään lakkaa kunnolla vasta ensi kesänä.

Joululakkaus

Tänä vuonna kynteni viettivät joulunsa seuraavanlaisissa tunnelmissa:

Jälkimmäisestä yhdistelmästä en saanut kunnolla otettua kuvaa, mutta onneksi minulla oli koneella syksyllä otetu kuva samasta yhdistelmästä. (Tästä syystä nimettömäni kynsi onkin yhtäkkiä kuvassa pitkä.) Art of seduction on kyllä aivan mielettömän ihana lakka käyttää (vaan ei poistaa...) kuten koko Glitter Vixen -kokoelma muutenkin. Kunnolla glitteriä ja kimalletta, ei pelkkä tylsä lakka. Lakka tosin jättää kynnen pinnan hieman röpelöieksi, mutta ei mielestäni mitenkään häiritsevissä määrin, varsinkaan jos päälle laittaa vielä päällyslakan tai pikakuivattajan.

China Glaze Cowgirl Up

Olen rakastunut!
Lakkasin tänään kynteni China Glazen Cowgirl Up -lakalla ja lopputulos on aivan ihana!

Tämä lakkasävy nousi samantien yhdeksi tummien lakkojen suosikeistani. Sopivan tumma, kaunis kevyt shimmeri ja ihana tumma punertavan violetti sävy vei sydämeni. Ja kynnelläni on vain yksi kerros lakkaa! Sävy on siis myös hyvin peittävä.

Lakka on peräisin China Glazen Rodeo Diva -kokoelmasta, josta omistan tämän lakan lisäksi Lasso My Heartin ja Prize Winning Maren. Nämä sävyt ovat saaneet minut villiintymään niin, että harkitsen vakavasti myös muutaman muun sävyn hankkimista tästä kokoelmasta. Itseasiassa taidankin samantien siirtyä Head2toebeauty.com:in puolelle ja pistää ostoskoriin muutaman lakan...

Nyt kun muuten tarkemmin mietin, niin itseasiassa lakka on hyvin lähellä aiemmin tänne laittamaani Lumenen Quick & Chic -lakan sävyä 56 Yön kuningatar! Kuinka en heti tajunnutkaan. Noh, trendisävyhän tämä näemmä on.

Lumene Taikayö

Kyllä, olen selkeästi aivan myyty näille tummille sävyille. Edelliset ihanat vaaleat lakkaukset olivat olleet kynsissäni alle vuorokauden, kun jo tahdoin vetää päälle jotain tummempaa.

Lumenen Quick & Chic sävy 51 Taikayö.

Lakka on peittävä, todella tumma violetti. Sävyssä on kuitenkin ihanaa se, että sen violettisuus erottuu selkeästi, ei siis ole vain pelkän tumman luumun, lähes mustan näköinen pikaisestikaan katsottuna (valokuva ei ehkä ehkä välitä tätä tarpeeksi selkeästi).

Lumenen Quick & Chic lakat ovat mielestäni muuten hyviä, mutta tuplaleveä suti ei ole parhain mahdollinen tummien lakkojen kanssa. Sudilla ei saa tarpeeksi tarkkaa ja siistiä jälkeä kynsirajaan, tukevammalla ja kapeammalla sudilla tämä onnistuisi paremmin. (Kyllä, syytän sutia, omissa taidoissanihan ei ole mitään moitittavaa...)

Niin ja älkää välittäkö kuvassa näkyvästä vessanpöntöstä, kylpyhuone on taloni parhaiten valaistu paikka näinä synkkinä, pimeinä iltoina.

Lakkausmallit Part 1

Siinä vaiheessa, kun lakkoja on kertynyt useampi kappale tulee väkisinkin vastaan tilanne, ettei muistakaan ihan tarkasti millaisen lopputuloksen joku kynsilakka tekee. Ei muista, onko joku lakka todella peittävä jo yhdellä kerroksella vai onko se vielä useammankin kerroksen jälkeen läpikuultava. Pullon sisällön juoksevuuden perusteella voi toki päätellä paljon, mutta välillä lakat saattavat yllättää. Tässä tilanteessa loistavana apuna toimivat "Nail Wheelit", eli lakkausmallit.

Syksyisiä kynsilakkoja

Olen alle kouluikäisenä alkaneen kynsienlakkaushistoriani aikana käyttänyt kynsissäni useita eri sävyjä: pinkkejä, vihreitä, sinisiä, turkooseja, oransseja, keltaisia, kultaisia, hopeisia... kaikenlaisia. Mutta lähinnä vain vaaleita sävyjä. Syksyn synkkyys, lähestyvä talvi ja muutenkin tämänhetkinen trendi ovat kuitenkin saaneet minut innostumaan myös tummista lakoista ja haluaisinkin näin alkuun esitellä muutaman sävyn, joihin olen ihastunut.

Tarkkasilmäinen lukija saattaa kynsinauhojeni perusteella todeta, että tummien sävyjen kanssa askartelu ei ole vielä muodotunut minulle rutiiniksi. Noh, ehkä tämä uusi villitys kehittää lakkaustatojani ja aikaa myöten myös kynsinauhani säästyvät ylimääräisiltä värileikeiltä.

Lumene Quick & Chic 54 Salattu kauneus.

Hyvä peittävyys jo yhdellä kerroksella, kuvassa tosin kaksi kerrosta ja Poshe pikakuivattajana. Ihana, hieman punertava luumu kevyellä helmiäisellä.

Lumene Quick & Chic 56 Yön kuningatar.

Tässäkin lakassa on hyvä peittävyys jo yhdellä kerroksella, mutta kynnellä on kaksi ja Poshe. Hieman edellistä punertavampi, mutta luumuun menevä lakka kevyellä helmiäisellä.

Lumene Quick & Chic 52 Pimeän taa.

Tumma harmaa, ei kuitenkaan musta, kevyellä shimmerillä. Pinta jää jännän näköiseksi, ei ihan kiiltävä mutta ei ihan mattakaan.

Sama lakka kuin edellä, mutta päälle lisätty kerros China Glazen Wireless topcoatia.

Maybelline Salon Expert Acustic Azure & China Glaze Wireless topcoat.

Tumma, siniseen taittuva lakka. Yhdellä kerroksella hieman läpikuultava, vaatii toisen kerroksen. Olisin toivonut tämän olevan sinertävempi kynnellä. Kuva otettu kylpyhuoneen keinovaloissa.

Onko joku muukin vasta herännyt ja innostunut tummista lakoista? Trendi nämä ovat olleet jo jonkun aikaa, mutta olen jotenkin mieltänyt nämä tummat lakat liian rock-henkisiksi ja epänaisellisiksi. Nyt olen kuitenkin tullut siihen tulokseen, että varsinkin luumuun tai punertavaan taittavat tummat lakat voivat olla hyvinkin naisellisia.
